The first step you will need to take in order to work in Ireland is register or assess your eligibility for registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
If you are an EU or EEA graduate, you can expect to obtain registration within 6-8 weeks once you have submitted your documents for review. Non-EU/EEA graduates may be required to sit the PRES exams and you will need to contact the IMC directly in relation to this.

You are also required to obtain medical indemnity to work as a general practitioner or family medicine doctor in Ireland and the IMC will require you to provide a declaration with regards to this. Please click here for further information.
